Position Summary:

The Program Facilitation Specialist is responsible for the development, coordination, and facilitation of group-based substance use and recovery programming. The Facilitation Specialist  will also provide constructive feedback and coaching to team members who under your supervision deliver on site programs. This role delivers trauma-informed and culturally responsive support to individuals experiencing substance use concerns, mental health challenges, and complex social barriers.

The primary focus of the Facilitation Specialist is to ensure the consistent delivery of high-quality group programming that complements services provided by the Interior Health Authority (IHA) group facilitator. In addition, the role includes providing individualized case management, life skills development, conducting community-based assessments, and delivering crisis intervention support.

The Program Facilitation Specialist is responsible for collaboratively developing and maintaining Personal Service Plans with participants to support individualized goal setting, recovery planning, and ongoing progress. The role also requires maintaining accurate and timely documentation, adhering to organizational standards, and upholding strong professional boundaries and ethical practices within a recovery-oriented environment.

Typical Duties Include:

• Delivery substance use recovery support curriculum including SMART Recovery, Wellbriety, Art Therapy. 
• Create and monitor Personal Service Plans with participants 
• Support the Coordinator to assess individuals applying to the recovery program to ensure suitability for recovery success.
• Conduct risk assessments and determine appropriate service pathways, providing mental health support and referrals to internal and external resources as required.
• Attend regular case management meetings to ensure participant’s compliance with program expectations
• Support the Maverick Team to provide individualized support to participants, assisting with recovery stability and discharge planning.
• Support participants in developing life skills necessary for independent living, including financial literacy, daily living skills, and community integration.
• Provide crisis intervention and referrals to appropriate community support when necessary.
• Respond to overdose situations as trained, working collaboratively with team members, paramedics, and police during crisis events.
• Transport participants to appointments and activities as needed.
• Maintain accurate and timely case notes, statistics, and operational documentation in accordance with COA standards and organizational policies.
• Assist with the preparation of verbal and written reports, correspondence, and year-end documentation.
• Participate, when required, in the organization’s Performance and Quality Improvement initiatives.
• Strong understanding of professional boundaries and ethical practice.
• Support daily program operations, including meal service/preparation and maintaining common area cleanliness when required.
• Perform other related duties as required to meet operational and funding requirements.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• A combination of a relevant bachelor’s degree (BSW) with extensive experience in a group program delivery/facilitation setting.
• Certification for at least one of the following programs: SMART Recovery, Wellbriety, and/or Art Therapy 
• Registered Social Worker (RSW) or Registered Clinical Social Worker (RCSW) is highly desired.
• Strong knowledge of therapeutic group practice
• Understanding of the recovery change process
• Ability to support understanding of all recovery pathways offered at the center: SMART Recovery, Wellbriety, NA/AA, LIFE ring, Dharma, 
• Ability to foster the development of the community support network within the chosen pathway
• Demonstrated good judgement, good observation and client assessment skills, tact and empathy in working within a therapeutic recovery environment.
• Knowledge and understanding of Indigenous culture and traditions and a demonstrated ability to work with Indigenous peoples.
• Experience working within a case management model involving multiple community partners.
• Strong ability to recognize and address difficult behaviors.

Position Summary: As a Property Services Cleaner, you will work in collaboration with the Property Services department to maintain cleanliness at various sites. This may or may not include windows and doors, wiping down and disinfecting all surfaces and desks, handles, filing cabinets, table-tops, cupboards, countertops, mirrors, furniture, walls and baseboards, removal of trash, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, cleaning of ovens, fridges, and bathrooms. Service delivery is based on a client-centered, trauma-informed, and non-judgmental perspective. 

Specific Responsibilities:

• Dust furniture, equipment, partitions, walls, etc.

• Clean and disinfect sinks, countertops, floors, toilets, tables, chairs, refrigerators, microwaves, etc. in restrooms and shelter spaces.

• Maintaining cleanliness of building (may include bio-hazard clean up).

• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and/or hand scrub floors using brooms, mops, and vacuum cleaners.

• Empty trash cans and recyclables into disposal areas.

• Wipe down walls using wall mop, doors, wall hangings, baseboards, etc.

• Clean windows, glass partitions, mirrors, using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, or squeegees. 

• Maintaining and upkeep of all cleaning equipment, supplies, and products.

Position Summary: As a Maintenance Technician you will work alongside the ASK Wellness Society Property Services Department to ensure interior and exterior painting along with surface preparation, complete repairs related to buildings and grounds in one or more areas such as repairs, electrical, plumbing, painting and groundskeeping.  Service delivery is based on a client centered, trauma informed and non-judgmental perspective.

Specific Responsibilities:

Painting & Surface Maintenance duties

- Prepare surfaces for painting (scraping, sanding, patching, caulking, pressure washing).

- Apply paint, varnish, stain, epoxy, and other finishes to walls, ceilings, doors, trim, and exterior surfaces.

- Perform drywall repairs including patching holes and fixing cracks.

- Match and mix paints to achieve required colors and finishes.

- Ensure proper masking, covering, and protection of surrounding areas.

- Maintain clean and safe work areas during and after painting projects.

- Inspect painted surfaces and touch up as needed.

- Maintain painting tools, sprayers, rollers, brushes, and related equipment.

General Maintenance duties

- Establishes, monitors, and carries out preventative maintenance procedures and schedules for buildings, equipment and grounds. Ensures building and equipment meet all safety, security and fire regulations and policies.

- Make recommendations for major repairs and purchases to the Coordinator of Property Maintenance and Cleaning.

Position Summary: The Property Services Residential Tenancy Act (“RTA”) and Administrative Associate work closely with the Property Services Department to ensure organization, consistency and policies and procedures are being followed. This position is an integral part of a busy and dynamic Non-Profit Society. Specific Responsibilities:

• Provide assistance and advice for all RTA leaves (arbitration, rent reviews, etc.).

Position Summary: Work alongside the Head Cook as their assistant, at an excellent level while maintaining and abiding by all standards, policies and/or procedures set forth by the ASK Wellness Society and any applicable government agencies. Typical Duties Include:

General Cook Responsibilities

-         Assist team to prepare and cook large quantities of food for 60+ (continental breakfast and dinner).

-         Lead meal prep/service and supervise kitchen team in Head Cook’s absence.

-         Provide guidance to other kitchen staff members and tenant support workers with respect to food preparation, service, and cleaning.

-         Oversee and organize kitchen stock and ingredients.

-         Ensures a first-in, first-out food rotation system and verify all food products are properly dated and organized for quality assurance.

-         Keep cooking stations stocked, especially before and during prime operation hours.

-         Assist the Head Cook in hiring and training new kitchen employees to kitchen standards.

-         Assist Head Cook with menu creation, managing food and product ordering by keeping detailed records and minimizing waste, plus works with existing systems to improve waste reduction and manage budgetary concerns.

-         Regularly monitor and inspect kitchen equipment, report any problems or inconsistencies to the Head Chef and make recommendations for repair or procurement.

Qualifications and Requirements

-         Minimum of two years prep/cooking experience an asset.

-         Formal culinary training is considered an asset.

-         Advanced knowledge of food hygiene and safe kitchen practices including the use of commercial equipment and tools.

-         Knowledge of HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points) is an asset.

-         Level 1 First Aid, FoodSafe Level 1, and WHMIS required.

-         Must pass criminal record check for vulnerable sector and reference screening.

-         In-house Violence Prevention, Cultural Awareness Training, and 2sLGBTQ+ Training provided.

Hours: Various shifts including: 8:00am-4:00pm, 4:00pm-12:00am, 12:00am-8:00am (Monday through Sundays) with a 1/2 hour paid break
Wage Range: $24.97 up to $28.62 based on education and related experience.

Position Summary: As a Tenant Support Worker, you will provide life skills services to Program Participants who may struggle with mental health concerns, substance use challenges, and chronic health conditions. Within this role you will support Program Participants to identify individual goals and develop life skills necessary to live as independently as possible. Service delivery is based on a client centered, trauma informed and non-judgmental perspective.

Typical Duties Include:

- Encourage and support Program Participants to live as fully and independently as possible.
- Participate in the assessment, goal setting and program planning for Program Participants when requested.
- Provide supervision and support to mitigate individual and program risk to ensure safety, comfort, and wellness.
- Work closely with identified community resources for each Program Participant.
- Actively seek Program Participants' views and involve them in decision making to improve their identity, purpose, and self-esteem.
- Complete wellness checks/room checks when required.
- Monitor and move along with community members who are loitering in and around the property.
- Provide crisis intervention as required including overdose responses by ensuring immediate access to medical services and completing necessary incident reports when required.
- Complete accurate and up-to-date communication/case notes.
- Maintain files and statistics as per accreditation standards.
- Work in collaboration with the Licensed Practical Nurse to ensure medication adherence and documentation.

Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor of Social Work, Human Services Diploma, Support Worker/Care Aid Certificate, or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or lived experience.
- Strong ability to recognize and address difficult behaviors.
- Good communication, documentation, interpersonal and conflict management skills.
- Ability to work within a team-based environment involving multi-agency supports.
- Strong working knowledge of community resources.
- Understands and maintains professional boundaries.
- VAT (Vulnerability Assessment Tool) training an asset.
- Must pass an acceptable criminal record check.
- Occupational First Aid Level 1 required (registered within two weeks of start date).
- Readiness to complete in-house online training within the first month of employment.
- Mental Health First Aid, ASIST, and Trauma Informed Practice an asset.
